Osmonds set to reunite for 50th anniversary Las
Vegas performance
The Osmond siblings are reuniting this summer in Las
Vegas for a television special celebrating their half-century in the
entertainment business.
All seven Osmonds - Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny,
Marie, and Jimmy - are scheduled to be on stage on August 13 and 14
for
the show being recorded at The Orleans Hotel Showroom, publicist
Kevin Sasaki said.
Tickets for the live shows range from 75 US dollars (£38) to 125 US
dollars (£63).
"The Osmonds 50th Anniversary, starring The Osmond Brothers, with
special guests Donny, Marie, and Jimmy," will be broadcast
on
America's PBS television stations in March 2008.
In their 50 years in the entertainment industry, the Osmonds have
recorded 142 albums and starred in a variety of television shows,
including ABC-TV's "Donny & Marie" variety show (1976-1979) which
always opened with "I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit rock
'n' roll."

and Jimmy _ are scheduled to be onstage Aug. 13-14 at The Orleans
Hotel Showroom, publicist Kevin Sasaki said Thursday from Los
Angeles.
Tickets for the live shows range from $75 to
$125.
The shows will be taped for "The Osmonds 50th Anniversary," which
will air next March on PBS stations.
"At first it was just a tribute to my brothers,
but it came together as a celebration of everybody. It’s out of
control," Jimmy Osmond, producer of the special, said Thursday.
"We started so young, you would think 50 years means we’re a bunch
of old guys. We aren’t a bunch of old guys," he said, noting that
family members perform frequently before audiences young and old.

It's official: The long-rumored Osmonds
reunion will be in Las Vegas this summer, with a 50th anniversary
PBS special Aug. 13-14 at the Orleans Arena, it was learned Tuesday.
The Utah musical family, who churned out teenybopper
hits in the 1970s, hasn't performed together in 25 years.
Teen heartthrob Donny Osmond, who turns 50 in
December, will be joined by sister Marie and most of his
singing brothers.
