Merrill Osmond was the featured speaker
at a Performing Arts Workshop at (WCCCD)
Wayne County Community College District
Western Campus!

Merrill Osmond with
Dr. Curtis L. Ivery,
Chancellor for WCCCD.

Merrill began the workshop
speaking to those
interested in the
entertainment field
about longevity in the
entertainment business.

He also spoke to individuals
about keeping your standards
and not giving into the
demands of the entertainment
field, to stand for what you
believe in.

He told of how the Osmonds were told they would never
make it because of being
clean cut.

Then 47 gold and platinum records later...

...Merrill said," They were
going to keep doing it
until they get it right!"

Merrill talked of the
responsibility you have
as an entertainer to
provide uplifting music.

He answered questions
from the attendees.

Many wanted to know how your succeed when through the entertainment industry
pressures you to go in a direction that you're not comfortable with...

...and how to deal with peer
pressure in music styles.

He told of the adversities that came in producing
the Regan Inaugural.

How the odds were
against him in every
direction he
turned...

...he pressed on,
despite
all the odds...

...in the final hour,
it all made sense.

Merrill closed the sessions
with a mini concert.
